VITICULTURE / VINIFICATION
This excellent wine embodies everything that the connoisseur of elegant, traditional Spanish wine loves. Aged for 10 years in the cellars of Bodegas Navalon in the small DO Valdepeñas, located in the heart of Spain. Bodegas Navalon has been the passion of the same local family for several generations, and specialises in producing classic, oak-aged Spanish red wines that are only released when they have reached the peak of perfection.
The stony vineyards of Valdepeñas benefit from a dry Continental climate with over 2,500 annual sunshine hours, which is perfectly suited to producing intensely fruity, long-lasting red wines. The Tempranillo grapes were hand-picked from 30 year old vines when the grapes had reached optimum ripeness and acidity levels. Fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, then the ageing process began in a combination of American, French and Hungarian casks with different toasting levels in order to achieve the complex bouquet and flavours of this exceptional wine. This wine was oak aged for a minimum of 24 months.
