VITICULTURE / VINIFICATION
Aged for seven years in the cellars of Bodegas Navalon in the small DO Valdepeñas, located in the heart of Spain. Bodegas Navalon has been the passion of the same local family for several generations. This Reserva is exactly the sort of wine one would expect from the classic, elegant packaging- a traditional, Spanish, oak-aged Tempranillo, with an exceptional intensity of fruit and complexity.
The Tempranillo grapes were hand-picked at the optimum point of ripeness from 30 year old vines in stony Valdepeñas vineyards. The climate is continental, with cold winters and hot, dry summers. After fermenting in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks (below 28º C) for 15 days, the wine is aged in American, French and Hungarian casks with different toasting levels for 12 months.
